Meet the Officers!
Club Advisor: Nan Ho
Nan was a biological sciences major at Stanford and has been an LPC Faculty member for several wonderful years. She has taught a myriad of classes from Ecology to Marine Biology to Cell Biology and Zoology. Nan has been Faculty Advisor for Biology Club since its founding in 2011 and is both impressed and inspired by the talented, vibrant, and enthusiastic students and leaders who have made Biology Club a warm and welcoming place for students.
President: Patti Matus
Patti Matus is a third year Las Positas student majoring in toxicology. Originally from Vinnitsa, Ukraine, she hopes to transfer to UC Davis to pursue a career in pediatric medicine. As president, she would like to bring people together to have fun during meetings and at events! This is her second year with LPC's biology club.
Vice President: Jorge Ligeti
Jorge Ligeti has been attending Las Positas College Since 2009. He is a Biochemistry major hoping to transfer to UC Davis, to study Regenerative Medicine. As Vice President, he hopes to help members come together as life long friends. He has been a part of bio club since Spring 2014
Secretary: Nicole Chang
Nicole Chang is majoring in biology and hopes to transfer to UC Davis. She hopes to become a veterinarian one day from UC Davis Veterinary Medicine School. She currently resides in Pleasanton with her beloved dog, cat, a Chinese water dragon, a corn snake, four bettas, two pea puffers, and a bunch of other fishes, aquatic shrimps, loach, a bunch of aquatic snails, and two aquatic frogs. (Crazy). She hopes to meet new friends and wants to make bio club enjoyable to others.
Treasurer: Phoebe Wong
Hi everyone! My name is Phoebe and I am Bio club's treasurer. I am a pre-nursing student who loves good food(actually any food), hikes, art, the ocean and a whole lot of science! You can catch me around campus pretty much 60% of the time either studying, being a social butterfly, or doing something weird. Probably something weird. I also believe that everyone is awesome in their own way and bio club is definitely awesome all the way, so what's a better day than to bring awesome people together at an awesome club?
Historian: Christoper Southourn
Chris Southorn is majoring in Health Care Administration with hopes to transfer to CSU Long Beach. He is originally from Modesto, CA and he served in the US Army as a medic before coming to Las Positas College. As Historian, Chris hopes to provide insight into the club's past events and traditions while also documenting its curent activities for future generations. This is his fourth year with Biology Club.
Event Coordinator: Ashley Kim
Ashley Kim is in her second year at Las Positas College. She is a Biology major hoping to transfer to UC Davis and then vet school afterwards. As your Event Coordinator, she hopes to see the club work together to bring new ideas and events. Ashley also wants to help guide members in leading events and volunteer opportunities.
ICC Rep: Brett Bormann
Brett Bormann is a third year Biology student at Las Positas. He has aspiration to study medicine. He jpined biology club due to peer pressure.
Media Officer: Erin Kim
Erin Kim is in her second year at Las Positas College. She is a Neuropsychology major and hopes to transfer to UC Davis. As the Media Officer of Biology Club, she will update the website, and other social media accounts! She is a self-proclaimed computer geek, animal lover, and foodie. She cannot wait to meet everyone in Biology Club this year!
